Johnny a primit o arma...

Recunoasteti videoclipul?? "One" - Metallica. V-a interesat vreodata de unde sunt secventele?? Va spun eu...Sunt din filmul Johnny Got His Gun. Azi am avut ocazia sa-l vad, cam tarziu, ce-i drept.

Este povestea unui tanar american plecat sa lupte in Primul Razboi Mondial. Joe Bonham e un tanar simplu, care lucreaza intr-o brutarie si-si ajuta mama si surorile dupa moartea tatalui sau. Este indragostit nebuneste dar totusi se inroleaza in armata pentru ca stia de la tatal sau ca pentru democratie, orice om si-ar da fiul si acest lucru trebuia facut daca patria era in primejdie. Dupa ceva timp, este trimis impreuna cu alti cativa sa ingroape un inamic care murise in apropierea transeelor. In timpul acestei "operatiuni", un obuz il loveste lasandu-l fara maini, picioare si o buna parte a fetei. Astfel nu putea comunica in nici un fel cu doctorii si asistentele. Toti credeau ca este complet inconstient de situatia in care se afla. El are in perioada de tintuire la pat o serie de reverii, cu Iisus caruia ii cere sfaturi legate de situatia sa, cu tatal sau, cu iubita sa. Intr-un final, ii vine ideea de a comunica prin codul Morse, prin miscari ale capului. Le cere doctorilor sa i se faca cunoscuta situatia sa lumii intregi iar in caz contrar, sa il omoare. Acestia refuza, si o opresc pe asistenta care incerca sa-i duca dorinta la indeplinire.
